The National Weather Service in Lake Charles has seen 6 to 14 inches of rain fallen across parts of southeast Texas and southwest Louisiana since Friday night.
An additional 1 to 3 inches of rain can be expected through Monday. Be careful for flooded roads during periods of heavy rain.
Due to the rain, several rivers are in or forecast to flood, including parts of the Calcasieu River, Vermilion River at Surrey Street in Lafayette, Bayou des Cannes near Eunice, and Pine Island Bayou near Sour Lake.
Along the coast, tides will run above normal, but only cause minor coastal flooding during periods of high tides.
The severe weather threat is low for Monday, mainly in parts of south central Louisiana.
Looking down the road, the first widespread cold weather event is expected by Friday morning, when lows will be in the mid 20s in central Louisiana and below freezing along the I-10 corridor from southeast Texas and across southwest and south central Louisiana.
