Friday Volleyball Roundup

The Lady Bobcats traveled to Buna to wrap up the first half of district play. The Varsity won in 5 sets, JV won in 3 sets, and the Freshman won in 2 sets to complete the sweep! Marissa Kae Gilchriest

Miss Marissa Kae Gilchriest, age 16, of Pinehurst passed away Wednesday, September 26, 2018, in Tyler County, Texas. Marissa was born February 1, 2002, in Beaumont and had been a longtime resident of the Fred area as well as Orange County. She was a high school sophomore. Wallace Dragon Football Featured In Book

Before the West Orange-Stark Mustangs had a football dynasty, the Emma Wallace High School Dragons won two state championships and played in another state final game.   Donald “Donnie” Ray Robins, 77, of Bridge City, Texas, passed away on September 28, 2018, at his home surrounded by loved ones.   Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, September 30, 2018, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange, Texas. Officiating will be Mr. Harold Welch. Mustangs Host BC For Homecoming

  The West Orange-Stark Mustangs have not started this season as they have in previous years during their illustrious history.  The Mustangs lost their third game out of four. Coach Cornel Thompson is shaking his head in evaluating the team’s performance against a very good Crosby ball club.  The Mustangs played exceptionally well in the first half against the Class 5A Cougars taking a 17-7 lead.  The reverse was true in the second half as Thompson said WO-S laid an egg turning the ball over four times and surrendering 28 straight points.
