Alvin “Johnny” Perry, II., 50, of Buna, Texas, passed away on October 1, 2018, in Beaumont, Texas.   Memorial services will be 6:00 p.m., Thursday, October 4, 2018, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Second Suspect Arrested

Orange police Sunday afternoon arrested a second suspect in the armed robbery last week in which a dog was shot and killed. Detective Captain Robert Enmon said the man was arrested at his grandmother's house in the 2200 block of 16th Street. Officers were crawling after the suspect in the attic of the house and he crashed through the sheetrock. Keondrick Arabian Ali Barlow was arrested with a warrant of aggravated robbery. Police report he had other outstanding arrest warrants, including two for misdemeanor assault cases. Bobcats Looking To Rebound At Home

Last Friday was not a good one for the Orangefield Bobcats.  Their three-game undefeated streak was snapped, and starting quarterback Mason Gonzales suffered a serious knee injury. Coach Josh Smalley reflected on the Bobcats’ performance in the loss and losing the services of Gonzales for the rest of the season.  He blamed poor coaching and poor playing, but he gave a tip of the hat to the Buna Cougars for their effort. Inspector Visits 45 Businesses

County Health Inspector James Scales found mostly clean restaurants and food businesses during September. He visited 45 businesses and the lowest score was 83, with none in the 70s. Though only three had perfect scores, most were rated in the high 90s. The perfect scores went to the Days Inn on Interstate 10 in Orange, Write the Vision Leaning Center in West Orange, and Red Wagon Cafe in Vidor. by Newton Co. Sheriff Billy Rowles   We received a call from a juvenile who stated he ran away from home three months ago. He gave us his name and we started working on it.  Sure enough he was reported as missing in Kaplan, La. Lisa Fowler, 53, of Bridge City, passed away on September 27, 2018, in Galveston. A memorial gathering will take place from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Saturday, October 6, 2018, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Born in Orange, Texas, on January 20, 1965, she was the daughter of Mack Arthur Lewis and Marjorie Grace (Cady) Lewis. Lisa worked for CDI at Dupont in Orange. Zeppelin Michael Jayce Robin, 3 months, passed away on September 28, 2018, in Orange. A funeral service will be held at a later date. Born in Beaumont, Texas, on June 25th, he was the son of Brendon Michael Robin and Kristanny Lynn Nacole (Garrett) Robin. Zeppelin was a very happy and quiet baby.
