BCCC Hosts Night Out
Bridge City celebrated National Night Out Tuesday with food, games, and plenty of fun. The third annual National Night Out at the City Park was sponsored by the Bridge City Chamber of Commerce. B.J. Hanneman with the chamber said the festival to recognize first responders has grown each year. There were 42 booths sponsored by local businesses with free items for those that stopped to visit. Jones Named New Constable In Prec. 2
A veteran of the Orange County Sheriff’s Office was named the new Constable of Precinct Two by the Commissioners Court Tuesday. Mark Jones has served with the Sheriff’s Office for almost 29 years and currently is a patrol sergeant. Jones was asked for his feelings to be a replacement for David Cagle as the Precinct Two Constable who died last month. University of Mary Hardin-Baylor football player K.J. Miller has been named to the D3football.com Team of the Week for this week. Miller was recognized for his performance in the Cru's 77-7 victory over Southwestern University last Saturday. Miller, a sophomore wide receiver and kick returner from West Orange Stark High School, returned a Pirate punt 84 yards for a touchdown on his only return of the game.
