Ounces because Dickerson needed every single one of them to win. BC’s Sarver Has Number Retired
Saturday Lamar University retired the number two jersey worn by Natalie Sarver of Bridge City. The first volleyball number ever retired by the university. After leading BC High School to the State Volleyball Tournament, now Natalie Smith, played for Lamar from 1999-2002, and was named to the All-Southland Conference team each of her four seasons as a Cardinal. She was named the 2002 Southland Player of the Year and took home the 2002 Babe Zaharias Award. Rincon Excels In Reading
Fourth graders in Ms. Ann Cupp’s class have a Scholastic Reading goal of 16 points for the 1st 9 Weeks. Ms. Cupp teaches fourth grade at St. Mary Catholic School. The school chose Scholastic Reading over the other reading programs available. To say that some of the students excel in Scholastic Reading is not an exaggeration. Ms. Cupp has given the honor of “Rockin’ Reader” to one of her students, Evalen Rincon. Rincon has a total of 160 points for the nine weeks – 10 times the goal!!
