Born on Feb 18, 1962 in Port Arthur Texas to the parents Gene and Gayle Barnes. Mark went to St.Josephs school in Port Arthur through 7th grade where he served as an alter boy. Orange Man Arrested For Possession, Warrants
A man wanted on warrants related to drug possession is now facing an additional charge after Orange police arrested him Saturday afternoon in a convenience store parking lot. Police reported they found 6.3 grams of synthetic marijuana along with marijuana, a digital scale, and cash. The arresting officer reported a person called after seeing the man in an SUV spending about 20 minutes in the parking lot of the store on 16th Street. The person told police several people had walked up to the SUV and they were exchanging something with the driver. Coach Moe Litton Passes Away
Longtime Coach and trainer Moe Litton passed away Sunday night. He was 91. After serving four years in the Navy during World War II, Litton attended Stephen F. Austin University where he played football and earned his Masters in 1956. He then got into coaching, where he coached and was a trainer. He had stints at Hemphill, Jacksonville, Vidor, Orangefield, and Bridge City, where he worked from 1965-88. After he retired he wasn't far from a game and he continued to work and mentor those in the training business. Some Complain About Brown Water
Orange Public Works Director Jim Wolf said the city had a complaint this past weekend from the Palm Garden Apartments about discolored water. He said water lines will be flushed to clear the water. The senior citizen apartment complex is on 37th Street. Wolf said Orange water has a high iron content and comes from wells. Sometimes the iron makes the water appear brown or dark orange. Orange County high school bass teams are off to a good start. The first Deep East Texas Tournament of the season was held Saturday. LCM's Justin James & Gavin Cooper (with Lonnie Stanley above) took first place with 15.16 while Orangefield’s Tyler Shearin & Kameryn Henderson were sixth.
