The death of 37-year-old Octavious Lamont Williams is being investigated as a homicide.  Orange Detective Captain Robert Enmon said Williams' mother found his body in his apartment Saturday afternoon because no one had heard from him during the day. Enmon said he is waiting for an autopsy before commenting on the cause of death. The Regional Crime Lab in Jefferson County has a backlog because of the number of deaths during the weekend. Enmon expects the autopsy to be conducted on Thursday. The National Weather Service in Lake Charles is expecting a stormy weather pattern late Wednesday into Thursday. Between one to two inches of rain is expected area-wide, with locally higher amounts possible. In addition, there is a slight risk for strong to severe storms early Thursday, especially in southeast Texas and parts of southwest and central Louisiana. Wednesday Showers likely after noon. On December 25 at 01:46 AM, the Orange Fire Department and the Orange Police Department were dispatched to 6820 FM 1130 (across from LCJH) in reference to a fully involved house fire with a subject possibly trapped inside.  After their arrival at 01:50 AM, the Fire Department extinguished the flames and located James Wooten, a 70 year old male inside the residence.  He was pronounced deceased at the scene by Judge Stagner.  The house fire and fatality are under investigation by the Orange Fire Department and the Detective Division of the Orange Police Department.   … [Read more...] about Man Loses Life In Fire
