Youth Learn Community Involvement From Camp Fire
A group of youth spent the first day of their Thanksgiving holiday week making blankets for children in the Child Protective Services. The Orange Camp Fire Council held its first youth service day Monday for students ages 12 and older. "We're trying to teach children to get involved with the community," said Camp Fire Director Charlotte Alford. "This is a way they can help." A pizza delivery man told police that when he stopped along a road to check for directions, a man with a box cutter walked up to his car and tried to rob him. The delivery man shoved two hot large pizzas at the man's chest and drove away. The delivery man called police at 6:08 p.m. Friday. He told the patrol officer he had missed seeing Sagebrush Street and pulled over on the side of the road at FM 3247. He said he did not hear a car drive up, but a man knocked on his window. Clyde Boudreaux, 85, of Sulphur, Louisiana, passed away on November 17, 2018, in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Born in his grandpa’s house near Cade, Louisiana, on October 2, 1933, he was the son of Joseph Boudreaux and Leila (Alleman) Boudreaux. Clyde grew up in Jeanerette, Louisiana, where he rose to the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boys Scouts, delivered newspapers, and played center on his basketball team.
