Entergy Texas, Inc. customers will see an 8 percent reduction in the fuel portion of their bills beginning today. For the average residential customer using 1,000 kWh a month, the fuel charge will be reduced from about $30.22 per megawatt hour to $21.46 per megawatt hour, a savings of $8.77 a month. The Commissioners Court met Tuesday with only three members attending. The consequence was that several items were tabled for action later when there would be a full Court present. Discussion of future legal representation for the Commissioners was tabled. The current legal counsel for the Commissioners Court is Assistant County Attorney Doug Manning who is retiring from the county on January 26. Two Stolen Trucks Recovered
An observant Orange patrol officer recovered two stolen Ford King Ranch model pickup trucks early Saturday morning at the City Boat Ramp off Simmons Drive. A Lake Charles man was arrested and taken to the Orange County Jail. Officer Seth Williams reported he was patrolling the boat ramp area at 2 a.m. Saturday when he saw two vehicles with lights on. Other cars parked there were dark and the officer said it was unusual to find vehicles in the middle of the night there unless people were going fishing.
