Shots Fired At Couple In Roselawn
Orange police are investigating an incident Thursday morning in which gunshots were fired at a man and his girlfriend. They were in a vehicle traveling on Bluebonnet Drive in the Roselawn neighborhood. Officer J.L. Goins went to Walmart to meet the man and woman at 6:38 a.m. Thursday. The man told the officer a man he knows fired at his vehicle. Bluebonnet intersects with Edgar Brown Jr. Drive and Walmart is on the opposite side. Bush Visits Orange Thursday
The State of Texas made a visit to Orange on Thursday to get a first-hand look at the devastation to public housing in the area. Texas General Land Office Commissioner George P. Bush toured the Velma Jeter Manor which had two feet of water in the facility and had all 80 units in the complex damaged according to developer Chris Akbari. Stolen Guns Recovered
The Newton County Sheriff’s Office received information of someone possibility selling stolen guns. According to a press release, officers with the Sheriff’s Office located the transaction taking place. The guns were not listed as stolen at that time. The people with the guns did not know whose guns they were or where they came from. The officers seized the four weapons until the owners could be located.
