Property taxes across Orange County are due on Wednesday. Late-payers will face interest and penalties. All local taxes are paid to the Orange County Tax Assessor-Collector's Office. The office, under elected official Karen Fisher, bills and collects taxes for 21 different entities in the county. When a property owner pays a check to the office, the money does not all go to the county. George Loyd Duncan, Jr., 89, of Bridge City, Texas, went to his Heavenly home on January 29, 2018. Born in Vinton, Louisiana on December 8, 1928, he was the son of George L. On Saturday, January 27, twenty-one Little Cypress Junior High Varsity choir members attended the annual UIL Solo and Ensemble contest. Sixteen Vehicle Burglaries Over Weekend
Orange had 16 vehicle burglaries during the weekend, with 13 Friday night at two Interstate 10 hotels. Detective Captain Robert Enmon said windows were broken in the cars and trucks at the hotels. The burglars mostly stole loose change and firearms. "This was a quick smash and grab and they were gone," he said. Orange detectives Monday were reviewing surveillance recordings. The vehicles were at the Hampton Inn, 2080 Interstate 10, and the Holiday Inn, 2655 Interstate 10. The first break-in was reported at the Hampton Inn at 12:26 a.m. Saturday.
