A Beaumont man was sentenced Tuesday to 10 years in prison for kidnapping two girls after stealing the truck they were in. The girls and the truck were abandoned in Orange. Henry Dwight Moore, 23, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Jay C. Zainey of the Eastern District of Louisiana. Moore will also have five years of supervised release. According to the October 11 guilty plea, Moore drove a black truck into a Lowe’s parking lot in Sulphur, La., on December 13, 2015. This weekend is the Annual Mardi Gras Weekend in downtown Orange with parades Friday and Saturday and enough beads to blanket the downtown area. This year’s King and Queen are Jeff and Sherri Fruge from the Creole Krewe. It’s a big thrill for the Orange couple because New Orleans is almost a second home for them. Vidor Makes Arrests On Counterfeit Bills
On Wednesday, January 31, 2018, at approximately 10:15 AM, the Vidor Police Department dispatch center received a call of several counterfeit bills being passed at a Dollar General Store in the 300 Block of N. Main. According to the clerk 2 males and a female passed 2 $20 bills and a $50 bill that were counterfeit. While Officers were investigating this incident, a second call was received of 3 males attempting to pass counterfeit $20 bills at the Sonic in the 300 block N. Main.
