Earl Nat Dorman, 80, of the McLewis Community in Orange, Texas, passed away on February 11, 2018 surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, February 15, 2018, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Officiating will be his nephew, Reverend Harold Welch, of Primera Baptist Church in Bastrop. Burial will follow at Dorman Cemetery in the McLewis Community in Orange. The City of Vidor has scheduled a Special Election for May 5, 2018 to fill the unexpired term for Ward 6 of the Vidor City Council. Bobcat Tennis Brings Home Medals
Four Bobcats earned medals in the Vidor Invitational Tennis tournament this past Friday. Girls Doubles’ Megan Ibeck and Jennifer Swift took the gold in the B bracket. Swift and Ibeck had wins against Silsbee, Memorial and Kirbyville to medal in their division. Once again, mixed doubles team represented the Orangefield Bobcats well. Christie Luoung and Luke Truncale defeated Hardin Jefferson and Woodville before coming up short against Jasper. They placed second in the Mixed B Double division. Bear Golf Competes At Barbers Hill
The LCM boys finished 10th at the Barbers Hill Tournament. The 2 day tournament was shortened to a one day tournament due to rain and course conditions. The Bears were led by Freshman Jack Burke's 77 as he finished tenth individually. The 6-A schools were at this tournament as a regional preview. First place team with a 307 score was Clear Creek. Cinco Ranch was second 312, and Dawson 312. The Bears shot 348. The Texas A&M Agrilife Extension Office is holding a Bread Making Class on March 17 at 10:00 AM.
