Bobcat seniors haven't played their last game yet The Orangefield Bobcats and the Bridge City Cardinals played for the fourth time this basketball season, and they had another barn burner Friday night in The Grove at LC-M High School. The Cardinals inbounded the ball needing a basket to win the game with just three seconds left, but the Bobcats got a steal at midcourt to clinch the victory 37-36. Orange County Health Inspections February 1-15 Shipley Donuts, 710 North Main Street in Vidor: 95. Foods inside coolers and storage units needed to be covered. Same pan lines were used multiple times for backing. Equipment needed to be cleaned of old foods. Star Stop/In and Out, 100 West Freeway in Vidor: 94. Are Burglaries Connected?
A total of three burglaries and one attempted burglary of businesses were reported to Orange police on Thursday. Three of the businesses were on 16th Street and the other was off Interstate 10 near the 16th Street exit. The 16th Street stores were Martha's Seafood, 1609 16th Street, and the Citgo, 1415 16th Street at the corner of Burton Avenue. Both had their glass front doors broken and then the cash registers stolen. A similar burglary was also discovered at the Chevron Mart at 2323 Lutcher Drive at 23rd Street. Lady Cards Ready To Defend Title
District champions for the third straight season and fourth round finalists in the state playoffs are impressive credentials for the 2017 Bridge City softball program. The Lady Cardinals maybe had their finest season ever. Coach Kayla Gallardo has the girls coming back at Bridge City to match those accomplishments this year. At the top of the list of returning Lady Cardinals is senior Kassidy Wilbur who will pitch and swing a big bat. Abby Anderson will again be Wilbur’s battery mate. Thursday: On Thursday February 15th the Orangefield Powerlifting team competed in the Silsbee Invitational Meet. In the Boy’s division, Finishing 1st were Gavin Jackson in the 114lb class and Aaron Galitz in the SHW division. 2nd place finishers include Austin Taylor (114lb), Dylan Wells (123lb), Jacob Chapman (165lb), and Trip Leger (198lb). Brant Hyatt finished 3rd in the 165lb class.
