The Orange Historic Preservation Commission has a special meeting Tuesday to discuss fences in the historic district. The agenda says the historic commission in 2012 agreed to set the height of front yard fences to a maximum four feet tall, but the change from five feet tall was never recorded in the city codes. In addition, the historic district has no maximum heights for backyards, though the city has a maximum of eight feet. The historic district also has no maximum heights for side yard fences. Gene Roberts, 75, of West Orange, Texas, passed away on February 18, 2018, at his home surrounded by loved ones. Born in Beaumont, Texas, on August 3, 1942, he was the son of Ralph P. Roberts and Loretta (Lytle) Roberts. Gene worked as the West Orange Municipal Court Judge, a business owner, and was a licensed funeral director and embalmer. Dominos Will Be Back In West Orange
Tropical Storm Harvey damaged many businesses to the point that they will not return to Orange County, but that is not the case for Dominos Pizza in West Orange. They’re coming back bigger and better. The location on MacArthur Drive has been there for 35 years, delivering hot pizza to the greater Orange area. Since then, owners Randy and Kathy Brown have added 10 more locations between Orange and Huntsville. Lady Cards Go 4-2 in Jasper
The BC Lady Cardinals wrapped up there weekend in Jasper finishing 4-2 overall. Defeating Central 15-0 while freshmen Courtney Ball got the win on the mound while recording 5ks. The Cards also went on to out score HJ in game two by a score of 8-2. Freshmen pitcher Austyn Daniels received the win on the mound. Courtney Ball also received the win on the mound against WOS in game five with a score of 11-0. Kassidy Wilbur finished up the weekend against Kountze throwing a no hitter while the Lady Cardinals run ruled their opponent by a score of 16-0 in three innings.
