The Garth House, Mickey Mehaffy Children’s Advocacy Program recently held their 22nd Annual Penny Drive. St. Mary Catholic School collected “Change for Children” during January and February for this event. This is an example of “Kids Helping Kids”. Stark Foundation Opens New Building
An official ribbon-cutting helped dedicate a new building, but it had already been christened by senior citizens painting with water colors, pre-school children singing and clapping, and amateur artists molding clay. Soon student artwork will be exhibited in the halls. The Stark Foundation's new Walter G. Riedel III Education Center and Eunice R. Burglary Includes Fingerprints
A car burglary was reported in the Sunset Grove Country Club area late Wednesday night and at least one more was reported in the same area. Orange police report finding fingerprints on tape that was holding a cover over a broken window. The burglary was reported at 11:55 p.m. from the Sunset Apartments. Police reported the car had a broken back passenger window and it was covered. The thief used something to melt a small part of the tape so it could be pulled back to get inside. Pickering, WOS Trying To Fill Holes
Last year was an exceptional one for the West Orange-Stark Mustangs. They went 10-0 to win the district championship. Graduation took many of the Mustangs from that team, and West Orange-Stark has a new head baseball coach in Ryan Pickering who has been with the program for six years. Pickering has three returning lettermen for West Orange-Stark. Chad Dallas has been on the varsity all four of his years with the Mustangs and will be a leader this season.
