Still 300+ FEMA Trailers In County
Orange County still has more than 300 FEMA trailers serving as houses for people displaced by the Tropical Storm Harvey Flood. County Emergency Management Director Joel Ardoin said the county is requesting an extension of the deadline to use the trailers. The deadline has been extended several times and is now February 28. In addition, the county is asking to let the rural people buy their trailers. The green ribbons decorating mailboxes in the Cypress Bayou subdivision aren't for Christmas. They are a tribute to the men working on Waste Management garbage trucks. Mustangs Meet Dogs For Second Time Friday
This week is the third round of the state playoffs. The West Orange-Stark Mustangs made it to the third round with a tough physical win over Sweeny. Starting quarterback Tyrone Wilson was injured in the game. The West Orange-Stark Mustangs have a new head basketball coach. Bill Barstow has coached basketball for 25 years, 13 seasons as a head coach many of those with playoff teams. Barstow is excited about taking the reins with a talented group of Mustangs. “This is by far one of the more athletic groups of guys I’ve been around. Lady Cards Upset #17 Aggies
The Lamar University women's basketball team took a 33-31 lead in the second quarter and never looked back as they defeated No. 17 Texas A&M, 74-68, on Thursday afternoon in Reed Arena. The win for LU improves them to 5-3 on the season and ends the Aggies ten-game home court winning streak. Texas A&M falls to 4-2.
