On Wednesday, February 28, 2018, the Vidor Police Department responded to the area of the 500 block of Mill Street in Vidor in reference to a suspicious person. Upon arrival Officers made contact with Anthony Earl Charles Iles, age 28. Iles attempted to discard a baggie containing marijuana as the officer approached. Iles was detained for the marijuana. Wednesday the WOS Mustangs extended their win streak to eight with two impressive wins over Cleveland at Ronnie Anderson Park. Chad Dallas was money in Game One, throwing a one hitter and striking out 16 and walking none in a 7-0 win. Dallas, Kaleb Ramsey, Jacob Dominguez, and Da'Quarious Gipson were all credited with driving in runs. Blake Robinson was 1-2 with a double, a walk, a stolen base, and two runs scored. Twelve Homes To Be Demolished
The city of Orange will be demolishing 12 dilapidated houses with federal Community Development Block Grant money. Tuesday, the City Council held a public hearing on the demolitions and the Historic Preservation Commission approved the list. City Grants Administrator Sandra Wilson said comments on the properties will be accepted until March 28. Seven of the properties are in the 100-year flood plain and all are older than 45 years.
