It was a great tournament for the Freshmen and JV tennis players from Bridge City. The Cards won medals in 5 of the 6 events entered. In the JV boys singles, Salvador Torres defeated teammate Caden Carpenter to take home 1st and 2nd place. In the JV girls singles, Mia Simon captured 1st place defeating WOS in the finals. In the Freshmen division, Alberto Martinez took 1st place in boys singles, and Ruth Hamilton 1st place in girls singles. Orange Man Indicted For Murder
A 38-year-old man from Orange has been indicted for racketeering murder in connection with the Aryan Circle (AC) killing of a man in Evangeline Parish, Louisiana. Jeremy Jordan was charged for the murder of 51-year-old Clifton Hallmark. The U.S. Department of Justice reports Jordan was indicted on December 14 and the indictment was unsealed Monday. The Orangefield Junior High boys track teams competed at the Silsbee Tiger Relays on Tuesday evening. Both 7th & 8th had excellent outings bringing home the 1st place trophies!! The 7th grade boys rallied from back to back second place finishes to finally capture first . The 8th grade boys had another fantastic night. FM105 Detour Wednesday Morning
Orange police at 9 a.m. Wednesday will shut down FM 105 at Woodcock Street in the Orangefield area to take measurements for the investigation of a March 13 fatal collision. Woodcock is just west of the 105/62 intersection. Captain Robert Enmon said the road will be closed about two hours and people will need to detour on FM 408 or FM 1442 to access Orangefield. Horrific Accident On Hwy. 87N
Trina Bronson of Jasper was taken by medical helicopter to a Beaumont hospital after the dually pickup truck she was driving was hit by an 18-wheel truck rig, driven by 56 year old Jerry Walker of Shreveport. The collision was about noon Monday on Highway 87 North by Little Cypress Drive. The driver of the 18-wheeler was taken by ambulance to a Beaumont hospital.
