LCM OAP Headed To Regionals
The Little Cypress-Mauriceville High School Bear Stage Players have advanced to the UIL One Act Play Regional Finals for the 4th consecutive year. They will compete at the Regional contest on April 13, for a chance to advance to state competition. Also advancing from the contest were Bridge City and Huffman-Hargrave. LT Holds Kennedy Center Workshop
On Tuesday, March 27, 2018, twenty-seven Orange County school teachers and representatives joined together for a Kennedy Center Partners in Education Teaching Workshop at the Lutcher Theater. Orange County Teachers spent the day working with Focus 5 teaching artist, Jennifer Unger on integrating the arts into lesson plans of other subjects. With a full blue moon weekend, Orange police were busy Thursday through Sunday with a variety of complaints, including a foul crime in which someone kicked holes in the drywall of a house being repaired after Tropical Storm Harvey. Art in the Park Still On For Now
Art in the Park is still scheduled for Saturday, even though the Bassmaster Elite Tournament and Sabine River Festival through the weekend have been canceled. The Orange Convention and Visitors Bureau, which sponsors Art in the Park, reports the annual event will still be held Saturday at Stark Park on Green Avenue. The fishing tournament and festival were canceled this weekend because of flooding conditions on the Sabine River.
