85th St. Mary Spring Festival Saturday and Sunday
Not many traditions make it to 85 years, but the annual St. Mary School Festival reaches that age this year. The 85th annual fund-raising event will be Saturday and Sunday on the school grounds at Bob Hall Road. The public is invited to play games, eat, listen to music, and buy items from booths. Bears Win, Bobcats Lose Thursday
Game one of the best of three playoff series went to Lufkin Hudson Thursday evening in Orangefield. The Lady Hornets shutout the Lady Bobcats 4-0 at Paul Cormier Park. The playoff series is a rematch of last year’s Bi-District round won by Orangefield. The Lady Bobcats could not get any offense going Thursday. Their only baserunner came with two outs in the sixth. City Discusses Private Contractor For Plant
The city's four employees at the sewage treatment plant will be offered jobs with Inframark LLC if the Orange City Council decides to have the plant operated by the private contractor. The council held a workshop on the contract and decided to vote during the May 8 regular meeting on whether to award a five-year contract to the company.
