Council Votes On Projects
The Orange City Council Tuesday agreed to spend $3 million in bond money for a new recreation center for indoors sports and other activities. The "rec center" will be designed from the old Natatorium. Plans call for the pool to be filled in. The frame can be used and new exterior walls will be installed. The interior will be new. LSCO Shows Growth With Two Graduations
The largest number of graduates Lamar State College Orange has ever had will walk across the stage later this month in two separate graduation ceremonies. More than 200 graduates will receive their diplomas, certificates, and institutional awards during the two ceremonies on December 14, 2018 at the Lutcher Theater in downtown Orange. Housing Assistance Off To Positive Start
The Texas General Land Office (GLO) kicked off its Housing Assistance Program (HAP) at the Orange County Convention and Expo Center Tuesday. It turned out the contractor for the GLO was a little understaffed. About 30 people began applying Tuesday morning for the Housing Assistance Program, but by lunch that total had more than doubled. Emergency Management Coordinator Joel Ardoin whose office is at the Expo Center said there were only two case workers and the lines were backing up. Additional case managers were sought. The LCM Lady Bears held off a late rally by Vidor on Tuesday and beat the Lady Pirates 36-27. Chelsea Perry led the Bears with 11 and Zaria Johnson and Brittney Wyatt pitched in 8.
