Streets, Pavilion On Councils to-do List
The Orange City Council Thursday morning decided to borrow money to pay for street repairs and a covered pavilion with a stage at the Boat Ramp off Simmons Drive. The city will borrow about $4 million for the street improvements. An estimate for the pavilion has not been made, but the total cost should be less than the total of $8 million the council originally agreed to spend. Summer web, phone and Skyward changes and outages are scheduled for the Little Cypress-Mauriceville District. June 6 District, campus, and department websites will be updated to comply with the ADA responsive design regulations. This will start around 7:00-7:30 a.m. with the District site, then campus and department websites will follow one at a time until complete. Websites will be down while they are being migrated. Orange Library Has New System
Librarian Nell Hopkins is in front of a sign that had to be posted in the library until a new computer system was installed. You can belly up to the check-out counter now and get all the books you want. The Orange Public Library's new computer system is up and running in time for summer reading. For a few weeks, the library had to set a limit of five books per checkout.
