The American Legion Auxiliary hosted its 74th Texas Bluebonnet Girls State June 17-23, 2018, at Texas Lutheran University in Seguin, TX. OPD Investigating Thefts And Burglaries
Orange police are investigating an assortment of thefts and burglaries during the past couple of days. A travel trailer was reported stolen at 5 p.m. Tuesday from the Orange Inn and Suites, 2900 Lutcher Drive. On Tuesday at 6:16 p.m., a man went to the police station to report someone got into his parked vehicle and stole items. The vehicle had been parked at the apartments at 3333 Ridgemont Drive. An employee with the Dollar General Store, 3024 16th Street, called police about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. A person had taken several items and left without paying. BK Opens In Pinehurst
The new Burger King restaurant in Pinehurst is open for business. The restaurant company conducted a soft opening Thursday, but word got out quickly of the eating establishment now serving up the flamed broiled hamburgers. Regional supervisor with Burger King Hassan Ahmad said the restaurant will have 45 employees, and everyone is welcome to the restaurant. Eating inside the restaurant will be available during regular hours from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM. The drive through window will be open 24 hours a day. Born in Lake Charles, Louisiana, on January 24, 1977, he was the son of Michael Dean McIntire and Regina Kingrey. Debris cleanup winding down
Cleanup from Tropical Storm Harvey is beginning to wind down. Emergency Management Coordinator Joel Ardoin gave an update Tuesday to the Commissioners Court on the pickup of debris caused by the storm. Ardoin informed the Commissioners that county crews picked up 1,314 cubic yards of debris last week. He said the amount of debris is dwindling greatly and recommended the county release the big grapple truck and use just the two smaller trucks. Johnson Arrested For Theft
An off-duty police officer saw something suspicious outside Childs Ace Hardware about dawn Saturday and called Orange police. They arrested a man attempting to steal a riding mower. Detective Captain Robert Enmon said the man told officers he had also taken another riding mower from outside the business a few days earlier. Police have recovered both Scag-brand mowers. The business is owned by Orange City Councilor Brad Childs. Enmon said the off-duty officer is from another agency.
