Crawdads On MLK Robbed Wednesday
A robber used a rifle or shotgun to steal cash from the register at the Crawdad's off Martin Luther King Jr. Drive early Wednesday morning. The robber, is still at-large, though police interviewed a "person of interest." The robbery was reported about 4 a.m. and no one was injured. Detective Captain Robert Enmon said the robber was described as a white man wearing a green jacket, black pants and white tennis shoes. Arrest Made In Wednesday’s Shooting
The suspect in yesterday’s shooting has been identified. Thirty-two year old Joshua Taylor was booked into the Orange County Correctional Facility on 4 charges and is expected to be arraigned today (Thursday) and have bonds set on each charge. Taylor was charged with Unlawful restraint, 2 counts of deadly conduct ,and aggravated assault with a firearm. The Unlawful restraint is a Class A misdemeanor and the other charges are felony offenses. Chester M. Boone, Jr., 81, of Hemphill, Texas, passed away on December 12, 2018, in Lufkin, Texas. Born in Houston, Texas, on October 6, 1937, he was the son of Chester Boone, Sr. and Myrtle Padon Boone. Chester proudly served his country in the United States Navy retiring after 20 years as Chief Electrician’s Mate, CPO. He went on to work and retire as an electrician for JM Huber Phillips after 17 years. He adored his wife who was the love of his life, and his family dearly. LCM Library Receives New Books
The LC-M drum line gave the beat. The LC-M cheerleaders and bear mascot greeted children. Clifford the Big Red Dog even made a guest appearance. But the spotlight was on the books, more than 1,000 books about dogs, cats, dinosaurs, snakes, girls who run, and a wimpy kid. The Little Cypress Elementary School Wednesday afternoon celebrated a donation of 1,090 Scholastic books to replace ones lost in the Harvey flood last year. OC Chase Ends In Louisiana
The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Troopers apprehend a driver who fled into Louisiana following a traffic stop on Interstate 10 in Orange County. Initial reports indicate that, at approximately 12:00p.m. on Dec. 24, a DPS Trooper was working routine patrol on Interstate 10, near mile marker 871. The Trooper observed a Toyota passenger vehicle, traveling eastbound, which appeared to be speeding. Man Shot In Leg After Dispute
At approximately 12:23 pm, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call reporting a male subject had been shot in the lower leg area and needed assistance. Deputies and first responders were dispatched to the Texaco at the intersection of Hwy 62 and Hwy 12 in Mauriceville, where the victim and 911 caller were located.
