County Planning Ahead
Orange County received a grant from the Rebuild Texas Fund this week that will be used to help the county be better prepared when a severe weather event occurs. The $82,139 grant has been used to purchase special sandbag filling machines. Clark Slacum who oversees the county’s Road and Bridge Department believes the five sandbag machines will greatly facilitate the filling of sandbags. He plans to have one of the machines at each of the four precinct barns in the county and an additional one in Mauriceville.
