Dillon-Posey 12th After Day One (UPDATE)
Update: Dillon and Posey barely missed fishing in the top 12 on Saturday. They weighed in 8-12 and finished in 15th place. Chance Dillon and Dakota Posey from the Little Cypress-Mauriceville Bass Team are in 12th place after day one of the Bassmaster High School Championship on Kentucky Lake in Tennessee. The lake features both small and largemouth bass. The duo caught a five fish limit for 13-9 and currently sit just a little over six pounds behind the leaders from Natchitoches Central HS in Louisiana. Over 300 teams are competing. Michigan State University is in Lansing, Michigan. The Lansing State Journal recently published a list of the best football player to wear each number. It comes as no surprise that Orange's own Bubba Smith was selected the best to wear 95. The article states: Charles "Bubba" Smith is one of only six Spartans to have their jersey number retired in program history. Smith helped lead MSU to back-to-back national championships in 1965-66. St. Mary Ready For Students
It has been a very busy summer at St. Mary Catholic School. The school’s physical plant has undergone several improvements and many of our students, former students, parents, volunteers and staff members have been working very hard to prepare for the first day of school. Orange County Issues Request For Hotel Occupancy Tax Fund Applications Orange County, Texas (August 2, 2018)—The Orange County Hotel/Motel Tax committee has released applications for non-profit entities within Orange County to apply for a portion of the County’s Hotel/Motel Tax funds. Any 501(C) organization in Orange County that attracts visitors to Orange County Texas can make application to the committee. The Orange County Historical Society will have it's third quarterly program by touring the Cormier Museum in Orangefield on Aug.7 starting at 6:30 PM. Accident on FM 105 Thursday
At approximately 6:15a.m., the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Troopers responded to a single vehicle crash on FM 105 in Jasper County. The crash occurred near the Jasper-Orange county line. Initial reports indicate that a 2000 Ford Mustang was traveling southbound on FM 105. As the driver approached a curve, he began to pass another vehicle. The Ford successfully passed the other vehicle, but was traveling at an unsafe speed as he entered the curve.
