Orange Police Officer N.R Medina caught two men stealing a lawn mower early Thursday while he was patroling in the Oak Creek Village subdivision. He reported he was in the 4900 block of Oak Valley Drive about 2:30 a.m. Thursday when he saw a darkened gray 1998 Buick parked in a driveway. A man was sitting in the driver's seat and another man was standing outside the car. The officer saw the man outside put something into the back seat of the car. There will be new principals at two of the three secondary campuses in the Little Cypress-Mauriceville District this year. The appointment of Stacey Brister as LCM’s Superintendent-Elect opened the position of Director of Secondary Curriculum and Instruction. That post was filled by Todd Loupe, who served as LCM High School Principal for the past two years. Recycle it! It seems to be the best kept secret in Orange that we can recycle. We don’t have curbside recycling but we have drop off recycling at the old landfill on FM 1442 next to the Expo Center. There is no charge and at present it is open Monday to Saturday from 7:00 – 5:00. Good news, you don’t have to sort the recycles! Just collect those recycles in a box, a bin or a bag.
