Brandon Prouse is entering his second season as the head football coach at Deweyville. Last season he changed the culture and work ethic for the Pirates which now has the weight room more involved. Coach Prouse has starters back for Deweyville on offense. The Pirates are going to hang their hats on their big right tackle Nathan Henson who has started three-years. Henson will move from center to right tackle. Landon Thompson replaces Henson at center and started ten games last year. On Tuesday, August 21st, 2018 at approximately 6:30PM, Investigators with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division along the City of Orange Police Department Narcotics Division were working their assigned duties in Vidor. The proposed bonds for the West Orange-Cove school district will pay for artificial turf at the high school for boys and girls, plus a gym-community events center at the high school. The school district on Tuesday posted six pages of answers to "Frequently Asked Questions." Whether it's a district or in this case a non-district game, a volleyball match between the Orangefield Bobcats and Bridge City Cardinals is always worth the ticket. In Game One OF had a 9-1 lead before BC battled back to win 25-23. In Game 2 again it was OF with a big lead early. BC battled back but this time the Lady Bobcats held on for a 25-15 win. Woman Drives Through Business
Tuesday afternoon around 4pm a woman pulled up to the Quick Lane area at Sabine River Ford but instead of pushing the brake she hit the gas pedal and drove through the front of the store. The woman was uninjured but the attendant got pinned between the counter and the wall and she was taken to the hospital for xrays on her foot. Pamela Willey was standing in front of the counter but was able to get out of harms way just in time. "I found out this 58 year old can still move," she said.
