Funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 22, 2018, at 11:00 A.M. at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 106 W. Park Avenue, Orange, TX, 77630 with viewing from 9:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Three LCM Bass teams made some noise at the Deep East Texas Tournament on a more than full Sam Rayburn lake last weekend. Justin James & Gavin Cooper finished a close second with 13.21. Just behind the winners from Huntington who weighed in 13.75. The LCM team of Garrison Byerly & Will Henson was seventh with 11.84 on a windy day. High Speed Chase Ends With Arrest
Troopers with the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) apprehended a driver who attempted to flee after a traffic stop on Friday in Orange County. While on a routine patrol Friday night at about 7:00 PM a DPS trooper observed a silver Ford SUV make several unsafe lane changes from the access road onto the eastbound entrance ramp of Interstate 10 near mile marker 875. Skim Scams More Sophisticated
Skimmer scammers have become more sophisticated and the illegal devices are now difficult to spot. Orange Police Captain Robert Enmon said thieves have managed to get keys that open gasoline pumps and they place a skimmer on the interior. "They can do it in ten seconds," he said. A few cases of credit card fraud have been filed with the Orange Police Department in the past couple of weeks. Enmon said most of the cases can be traced back to a credit card skimmer. Traffic Violation Leads To Drug Arrest
An Orangefield man faces a felony charge of possession of methamphetamine after Orange police reported finding the drug in his vehicle. Narcotics officer Sergeant Jason Laughlin said the vehicle was stopped on MacArthur Drive near Henrietta Street at 12:41 p.m. Thursday. Investigators stopped the vehicle because of a traffic violation. 36-year-old Colby Alan Bellard was arrested for the second degree felony of possession of a controlled substance.
