It is that time of year again for the Vidor City Council to consider applications for Hotel Occupancy Tax (HOT) grants. Grants will be considered and awarded at a special-called meeting on Thursday, August 17, 2017 at 7 pm at Vidor City Hall. For those applying for a HOT grant, applications must be turned in no later than 5 pm Friday, August 11th. HOT grants are to promote the tourism and hotel industries in the City of Vidor.
For FY 2017-2018, the Council will restrict the amount of HOT funds given to any one organization at a maximum amount of ten thousand dollars ($10,000.) Applications for a HOT grant can be picked up at City Hall at 1395 North Main St., by emailing City Manager Mike Kunst at mkunst@cityofvidor.com, or by clicking the link on the City’s website www.cityofvidor.com. Completed applications can be delivered or mailed to City Hall, or emailed to Mike Kunst. If one mails an application, please ensure it is mailed in time to be received at City Hall by the deadline of August 11th.
Additionally, anyone who was awarded HOT funds in FY 2016-2017 must have their follow-up report turned in before being considered for the coming year. Follow-up reports forms can be obtained by contacting Mike Kunst.
