HJ JV 20 OF JV 16
The WOSMS Stallions kicked off district with 2 shut outs against Liberty. The 7th grade won by a score of 36-0 Darryl Bowens rushed for 2 touchdowns and added two more in the air connecting with Malachi Rachal and Andre Thomas. Jerren Terrell connected with Patrick Mickey for a touchdown, Jubar Ross on a two point conversion and added 2 more conversions of his own. The Stallions were dominant on D recovering 4 fumbles and intercepting a pass. Jacob Dominguez, Tyrone Brown, Mickey and Thomas each recovered a fumble and Terrell had the pick. The 8th grade won their game by a score of 22-0. Wilbert Ned scored on two long touchdown runs and Paulino Santos kicked the extra points. Justin Veitch scored on a touchdown and 2 point conversion. Devon Thornton was in the backfield of the Panthers all night long to lead the defense and Zyon Moore had two fumble recoveries to help secure the shut out. The Stallions will host Orangefield next Thursday, October 15th.
Bridge City JV hosted Jasper last night and came away with their first loss of the season. After giving up 16 unanswered points, Max Baker took a kickoff return 86 yards for the Cardinals first score, 2pt conversion was no good. The defense stiffened up and held the Bulldogs out of the end-zone for the rest of the game. Caleb DuBois scored the next touchdown on a 3 yard QB sneak, Baker added the two point conversion. Neither team would find the endzone again, making the final score 16-14. The JV Cardinals will travel to LCM next Thursday.
Tuesday:
Bridge City Middle School played Jasper on Tuesday night. The 8th grade traveled to Jasper and came away with a split 1-1 record. The 7th grade teams hosted Jasper and dropped both games.
The 8th grade Red team remained undefeated on the year with a 13-6 win over the Bulldogs. George Fleming had a 50 yard touchdown run while Andy Lara added the extra point. Jackson Tims punched one in from 5 yards out to put the Cardinals up for good. The defense was led by Hunter Boyd, Brayden Little, and Obed Heraldez. The Red team improves to 5-0 on the season.
The 8th grade White team dropped a close one to Jasper by a score of 14-8. Jaxon Luna got the Cardinals on the scoreboard with a fumble recovery for a touchdown. Sheldon Becker had a nice night running for over 70 yards against the Bulldogs.
The 7th Grade Red team was defeated by Jasper by a score of 32-0. Standouts for the Cardinals included Cody Howard, Drake Dishon, Sam Carpenter, and Slade Foreman.
The 7th grade White team was also defeated by a score of 32-0. Standouts included Brady Badgett, Austin Richardson, Jalen Jones, and Brandon Bertrand.
Bridge City will host Little Cypress next Tuesday, October 13th.
