Thursday night, the 7th Grade Bobcats traveled to WO-S to play the Stallions. The Bobcats started off solid with a couple of tackles for loss, one big one came from DE, Logan Gipson. Orangefield also converted a fake punt for a first down early in the game, courtesy of Tyler Washington throwing to Gunner Jones. The Bobcats fought hard all night, but couldn’t seem to slow down their opponent in the end. The defense made WO-S work for most of what they got, but the Bobcats struggled to move the ball on versus a stout Stallion defense. Orangefield will face the Liberty Panthers next Thursday at 5:00.
The 8th Grade Orangefield Bobcats faced off against the Mustangs of West Orange – Stark last night in a tough district contest. In the first half, Heston Puckett and the Bobcat defense rose to the challenge, holding WO-S to only 8 points, thwarting many of the explosive plays the Stallions are notorious for making. An 8-0 halftime deficit quickly morphed into 27-0 before the final buzzer sounded. The offense, although lead by the solid play of Kale Berlinger, Hayden Bertand, Tyler Greenwood, were unable to generate much steam last steam versus a very stingy Stallion defense. Orangefield struggled to put a complete drive together and failed to get in the end zone for the first time all season. Come join the Cats at F.L. McLain Stadium next week as they look to get right versus the Liberty Panthers. Kickoff will be at approximately 6:30 pm.
