SETCA Banquet Is Jan. 28

On January 28, 2017 the Southeast Texas Coaches Association will present the “Class of 2017” at the Holiday Inn & Suites Beaumont Plaza, 3950 I-10 South, Beaumont.  This year’s class includes:  Belle Mead Holm, former Women’s Athletic Director at Lamar University; Steve McCarty, coach at South Park, West Orange-Stark’s first head coach, coach at Lamar; Randy Theriot (below), football coach at Kelly, Orangefield, Port Arthur Thomas Jefferson and Nederland; and Angie Cruse, Volleyball coach at Kountze.

 

randy-theriotThe Luncheon will begin at noon at the Holiday Inn Austin/Dallas Hall’s while the facility will be open at 11:30.  Tickets for the event are $10.00 to the public.  The Southeast Texas Coaches Association will also be honoring the  2016 Southeast Texas “Coach Of The Year” awards to the head coaches of the 17 sports and to the “Trainer Of The Year” as well as the Van Thomas “Media Person of the Year” and “Official of the Year”.  The Luncheon will conclude a weekend of wall to wall football.  The 19th Annual Golden Triangle Football Clinic will be held on January 26 & 27 at the Holiday Inn Plaza.  There will be College as well as High School coaches speaking on Thursday, January 27, followed by a coach’s social. At the conclusion of the sessions on Friday, January 28, there will be a “Coaches Social” to conclude the Clinic. 

 

We hope that we can “pack the house” for the Hall Of Honor Luncheon.  The public is invited to come and enjoy the celebration of 4 great careers that shine a positive light on the greatness of the Golden Triangle.
