The West Orange-Stark defense was stellar Friday night in their 45-0 win over Little Cypress-Mauriceville. Besides pitching their second shutout in as many games, they held the Bears to just 64 yards of offense and four first downs.
KJ Miller started things off for WOS with a 64 yd. punt return, followed by a Chad Dallas field goal from 25 yds to make it 9-0. After a big punt return by Jaron Morris to the two, QB Jack Dallas ran the sneak into the end zone. Before the half ended, Jeremiah Shaw ran one in from the 4 and Dallas threw a strike of 24 yds. to Miller to post a 30-0 halftime lead.
WOS kept the momentum going in the second half by forcing LCM into multiple three-and-outs. Shaw would score his second TD of the night, this one from 12. And Dallas would throw his second TD pass of the night, this one to BB Tezeno. The defense capped off their shutout by tackling RB Chris Winters in the endzone for a two point safety.
WOS (2-0) will travel to (2-0) BC Friday in a game you can hear on KOGT. LCM (0-2) will be at home against Hardin-Jefferson (1-0).
