Alex Reed of LCM was named the defensive MVP for the East team, who defeated the West 38-7, in the Southeast Texas Coaches Association All-Star football game played Saturday in Beaumont. It was the final game in a weekend that included recently graduated seniors from southeast Texas playing football, volleyball, softball and boys and girls basketball. Reed was presented the trophy by association coach TJ Reed. The East Offensive MVP was Newton’s Brock Barbay and the team MVP was Deviun Kennebrew of Newton. For the West the team MVP was Kaleb Jones of Barbers Hill. The Off. MVP was Liberty’s Alex Brown and Bobby Burke of Shepherd was the Def. MVP.
In the volleyball game, the West beat the East two sets to one. The East MVP was Deweyville’s Kennidee Willis, who will play at Lamar. BC Coach Becca Matthews presented Willis with the MVP trophy. Madilyn Miles of Barbers Hill was the West MVP.
The East girls basketball team beat the West 53-50. The MVP’s were Alix Sellers of Lumberton for the East and Kayla Konarik of Barbers Hill for the West. In the boys game it was also the East winning 82-79. The East were led by MVP Courtland Pender of Ozen and the West MVP was Vincent Perry of Anahuac.
The West won the softball game 5-0 with Kjirsten Murphy of Goose Creek named the West MVP. Alexis LeBure of PNG was the East MVP.
