After six seasons Shea Landry is leaving West Orange-Stark as the head baseball coach to join the Bridge City Cardinals as an assistant baseball and football coach.
“Right now this is the best move for me and my family,” Landry said. “I have a lot of memorable moments at WOS and I’ll miss working with the coaches and kids.” It was Landry’s first head coaching position. And in the short period of time he took the Mustangs to the State Championship game in 2015 and this year finished the district undefeated and reached the fourth round before losing to Region III Champ Robinson.
“I appreciate Coach (Cornel) Thompson for having the confidence in me to lead the baseball program. And I also want to thank all of my assistants. I feel like the program is in better shape than it was when I took over 6 years ago,” Landry said.
BC Baseball Coach Chad Landry said, “We are very excited to add Shea to our staff who is a proven winner, relates great with kids, and works extremely hard. Coach Landry will fit in great with our staff and we look forward to working together for a really long time.”
