Second year Coach Randy Ragsdale sees improvement in this season’s edition of the West Orange-Stark Lady Mustangs. Coach Ragsdale is expecting good things from his starting five at West Orange-Stark. Ragsdale says he starts with Eriel Jordan who is an outstanding young lady and a great ball player. She can work inside and she can work outside. A’Dreama Beverly works hard as a guard for the Lady Mustangs. Lauren Samuel is a returning starter from last season. Nakaiya Platt has moved back to the district and will help fill a starting spot for Coach Ragsdale. A newcomer who will start is Aaliyah Teel, she works hard and is a good athlete. There is some depth to call on for the Lady Mustangs according to Ragsdale. Daishia Broussard is a player that will come in and give the Lady Mustangs quality minutes. Betty McDonald has speed and will help the club. Alecia Tezeno is a sophomore, but Ragsdale expects her to do well. Elashia Colbert and Jazz Haney a senior will give good contributions off the bench, they’ll help the Lady Mustangs Coach Ragsdale states. Despite a lack of seniors Coach Ragsdale believes the Lady Mustangs will be better this season. West Orange-Stark started the season slow losing its first four games. The Lady Mustangs got their first win against Warren and then went to the Nederland Tournament where they won their first four games before losing to a very strong Lumberton club. Coach Ragsdale thinks the Lady Mustangs will be a lot better as the season progresses than they were last year because the girls are a little more mature. He is playing more juniors than sophomores this season, but Ragsdale still only has two seniors. The Lady Mustangs are still growing, and Coach Ragsdale says his kids are going to play hard.
