Aleah McClanahan lead off the fifth with a solo homerun to up Bridge City’s lead to 2-0. The Lady Cardinals would go on to a 4-0 win over Orangefield Friday as Kassidy Wilbur pitched a two hitter and struck out 11.
Wilbur and OF’s Kaylee Ancelot had thrown hitless ball through three innings. In the fourth, BC’s Jalynne Burch lead off with a hit and went to second on a wild pitch. Caitlin Denison then drove her in for a 1-0 lead.
The Cards (1-0) would add two more in the top of the seventh. Ancelot took the loss for the Bobcats (0-1) giving up six hits and striking out two.
OF’s Alyssa Dodd checks her chicklets after taking a ricochet off the face Friday night. She hung tough and stayed in the game.

In a day game, the Silsbee Tigers beat WOS 10-0 in the district opener for both.

BC went to Jasper and brought home a 6-4 win. Catcher Schuyler Thibodaux had 3 hits and 2 RBI’s.
