Little Cypress-Mauriceville rallied late using clutch free throws to defeat Jasper Friday night. The Lady Bears defeated the Lady Bulldogs 42-38 at The Grove on the Little Cypress-Mauriceville High School campus.
Karly Rogers was fouled with 48 seconds left in regulation and sank one of two free throws for the Lady Bears to put LC-M up 39-38. Jasper had the opportunity to take the lead with a pair of free throws, but missed both of them.
With time running down Zaria Johnson was fouled with 11 seconds remaining and made one of two free throws to put LC-M up by two. Six seconds later Johnson got the ball back and was fouled again while shooting to get two more free throws. She proceeded to make both to seal the deal for the Lady Bears as they went up by four points.
The win was special for Little Cypress-Mauriceville as it trailed 38-35 with about two minutes to play in the fourth quarter before the rally. Chelsea Perry was the leading scorer for the Lady Bears with 14 points. Johnson finished with 8 points and Rogers tossed in seven. Jasper’s Asia Mitchell took scoring honors with 19 points in the game.

Orangefield Lady Bobcats beat FTCA 52-27. Jayme Deutsch 7 points, 4 steals, 3 blocks, and 6 rebounds. Cameron Choate 6 rebounds, and 10 points. Faith Fregia 18 points, and 3 assist. Taylor Decker with 6 points.

Memorial defeated LCM 65-36. Christian Weatherly had 11 pts and 10 boards and Katon Brown had 10 pts and 12 rebounds for LCM.
