Orange County went 4 for 4 Friday as Bridge City baseball and softball swept their series while Orangefield and West Orange-Stark took 1-0 leads in their best of three.

In a game heard on KOGT, Orangefield defeated Hardin-Jefferson 4-1 at PNG. The Bobcats took a 2-0 lead in the second. After Mason Gonzalez and Dylan Anthony reached base, Kent Michael and Andrew Hoyland drove them in on consecutive hits. OF would add two more in the fourth on a squeeze play and an error. The Hawks scored their run in the seventh on a Bobcat error.
Ryon Stubblefield had two of the Bobcats eight hits. Stubblefield also got the win on the mound, pitching a five hitter, striking out six with no walks. Jase Rupert started for HJ, pitching 3 2/3 innings (85 pitches). LHP Garrett Neale pitched two and a third giving up two bunt singles.

Bridge City beat up Liberty 10-1 to sweep the series. Logan Hamm went 3-4 with 3 RBI’s on two doubles and a triple. Justyn Romero got the win, striking out 5 in 5 innings. The Cardinals reach the third round for the 13th straight season and will face Silsbee.

Silsbee swept their series with Huffman, winning 6-1 Friday in Livingston.

Bridge City swept Hardin-Jefferson, winning game two 6-1. BC scored their 6 runs on five hits, two by Peyton Trapp. Chloe Halliburton had a pinch hit two run single in the seventh. Kassidy Wilbur struck out five while giving up four hits. They will play Lorena in the fourth round.

LCM, down 1-0 in their series with Huntington will play Game Two Saturday at noon on KOGT from Jasper HS. The winner of the series will face the winner between Robinson and Liberty Hill, who split their games Friday and will play Game Three Saturday.
