Two West Orange-Stark Mustangs are finalists for the Willie Ray Smith Award. Quarterback Jack Dallas, last year’s Offensive winner, will have a chance to join Jamaal Charles (2003-04) as the only back to back winner. The other three finalist are PNG QB Roschon Johnson, West Brook RB Joel Denley, and Silsbee RB Calvin Tyler.
Mustang lineman Morris Joseph is a Defensive finalist. He’s joined by DB Kary Vincent of Memorial, Logan LeJeune of PNG, and Deonte Henson, a CB from West Brook. Last year Steven Tims of WOS won the Defensive Award.
The winners will be announced at the awards banquet at the MCM Elegante, February 22 at 6:30pm. The award, honoring the best offensive and defensive football player in the area, is sponsored by the Beaumont Lions Club.
