Saturday night the Bellville Brahmas used the big play to beat Orangefield 35-14 in bidistrict action in Porter, Texas.
Following an OF fumble in the first quarter, Chancellor Leaks-Gillum scampered 68 yards for their first score. He then followed that with a 63 yard punt return for a score to make it 14-0. Following a Bellville turnover, the Bobcats had a 10 play drive that came down to a fourth and goal at the one and Blake Bradley took it across to cut the lead in half, 14-7 at the midway point.
In the second half it was all Brahmas. Following an interception by Leaks, Bellville QB Marcus Ward ran 34 yards to make it 21-7 and then on their next possession Ward did it again, this time from 51 yds to make it 28-7 going into the fourth quarter.
Ward would score his third TD on a 10 yd. run for a 35-7 lead. With less than a minute to play, OF’s Dylan Williams made an impressive 52 yd. cutback run to make the score 35-14.
Bellville (6-5) will play Fairfield in the second round while the Bobcats end the season at 3-5.
