Buffy Knight and Kayla Casey, principals of Mauriceville Elementary and Little Cypress Elementary, have announced April 14, as the date for Kindergarten Round-Up for the 2016-2017 school year. Parents will again have two opportunities to register their kindergartener.
From 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., both campuses will host Kindergarten Round-Up. During this time, parents will register their child while the child visits a kinder-classroom. An additional time, for registration only, will be 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Kindergarten teachers will not be available during this timeframe, but office personnel will be on-hand to register in-coming students. A kinder-classroom will be open for parents and students to view.
Parents must provide all of the following: immunization records, children’s social security number and proof of residency in the form of a utility bill or other receipt with the parent or guardian address.
For those who need to update their immunizations, vaccinations will be given during Kindergarten Roundup from 8:15 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. at Mauriceville Elementary and from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Little Cypress Elementary. These clinics are provided by VaxANation for all children from prekindergarten to 18 years old. The costs are $20 for one shot, $30 for two and $40 for three or more. Students with Medicaid/CHIP will receive the vaccine free of charge with a copy of their current card.
