This week, more than 50 tweens and teens took over the Lamar State College – Orange campus for the annual Kids 2 College summer program. The 9 to 14 year olds spent their days learning, creating, and making new friends during a slew of classes, including art, financial literacy, science, Tai Chi, and poetry. Suzonne Crockett, the division director for Education and organizer of the program, said the week has been busy, but fulfilling to see the future college students so excited about being on campus. The culmination of their work this week will be presented during the program’s closing celebration at 5 p.m., Thursday, June 15, in the Student Center on campus. Please join Lamar State College – Orange’s Kids 2 College students and instructors for the presentation.
