The Bridge City Chamber of Commerce announced the Students of the Month for September at their Networking Coffee on September 8th hosted by Fresh Prep. Student of the Month for Orangefield High School is Brody Judice and Bridge City High School Student of the Month is Steve Nguyen.
Orangefield High School Student of the Month, Brody Judice, is the son of Damon and Karen Judice. Brody is ranked 5th out of 121 and has a GPA of 4.69. Brody’s awards and honors include:
- All “A” Honor Roll 2012-to present
- Highest ranking Sophomore Student 2013-2014
- Perfect Attendance 2013-2014
- Chemistry Award from the American Chemical Society of the Sabine- Neches Section, 2013-2014
- Invited to march with the Lamar University Drumline
Brody’s clubs and organizations include:

Brody’s Community service includes: Volunteering at Beaumont Baptist Hospital Pharmacy, 40 Hours of student observation at Baptist Hospital, Special Olympics, Friends of Rachel Clothing Drive, Lion’s Den Carnival Volunteer, Freshman FISH camp leader, Landscaping at Orangefield HS, and Summer Volunteer at Orangefield Administration.
Mrs. Droddy said, “Teaching Brody the last three years has been wonderful. He pursues his education and dreams with a level of dignity and dedication that is hard to find.”
Fred Cascio said, “What can I say about Brody, he is the quintessential student. I have never known (after two years in class and now in the third) Brody to be unprepared for class. He is one of the most conscientious students: diligent, persevering, accomplished and tenacious. Brody is one fine example of the rewards of teaching. It is a pleasure to have him in class.”
After graduation, Brody plans to finish the Co-Enrollment Pharmacy Technician Program at Lamar State College–Orange followed by attending Stephen F. Austin for Pre-Pharmacy and upon completion attend the University of Houston Pharmacy School and become a clinical Pharmacist and work in a hospital.
Bridge City High School Student of the Month, Steve Nguyen, is the son of Dung Nguyen and Hoa Tran. Steve has a GPA of 4.84 and ranked #1 of 164. Steve’s awards and honors include:
- Math Honors in Pre-Cal, Algebra 2 and Geometry
- English Honors in English II and English III AP
- Honors in Biology and World History
- Dual Credit Psychology, Government and Economics
- Honors for College Psychology
- 1’s for Solo and Ensemble for 3 years
Steve’s Clubs and Organizations include: National Honor Society, Band for 4 years, Math and Science UIL, Spanish Club and Student Council. In community service, Steve has volunteered at a local soup kitchen, food drive and NHS tutoring
Faye Parish, Secondary Math Teacher, said, “Steve is a very hard working student. Anything you ask of him is done quickly and efficiently. In math classes, he intuitively grasps the big picture. He has received the math award for each math class he has been in throughout his high school career. His freshman year, he made a perfect score on the Geometry EOC…no small feat!”
Russell Tipton, Band Director, said, “Steve is a fantastic student and I couldn’t imagine a finer choice for student of the month. He has been a leader, on this campus, for four years. He excels at everything he does! Congrats, Steve!”
Daniel Auchenbach, Science Department, said, “Steve has been a student in my Physics AP class as well as a member of Math and Science UIL for the past few years. Steve is a brilliant student that enjoys learning new and challenging subjects. Steve is also a great teacher. Many students come to Steve for help, and he is always improving the skills of his classmates.”
After graduation, Steve will attend Lamar University and obtain a degree in Chemical Engineering. He also plans to travel to South America and go sky diving. Both students of the month received gift certificates and gifts from: Gulf Credit Union, The Classy Peacock, Walmart, Wellspring Credit Union, Tiger Rock Martial Arts, Central Office Supply, Sabine Federal Credit Union, Michele Michelle Salon and Spa, Five Point Credit Union and Little Caesars.
