Daniel Auchenbach, BCHS Digital Design Coach and BCHS – Science, had this to say about Edward, “I have had the pleasure of teaching Edward for the past two years in Honors Physics and AP Physics. Edward is a fantastic student that masters even the most difficult concepts. His level of understanding and thoughtfulness is 2nd to none, and he challenges his classmates to be better students and more caring people. Perhaps the highest compliment I have for Edward is that he has made me a better teacher. His way of approaching problems and insight into topics challenges my understanding and show me other ways to look at a problem. So far, Edward hasn’t stumped me, but I look forward to the day that he does.”
Cathy Riley, English IV AP Teacher and English Department Chair, said, “Edward Doan’s genteel demeanor and strong work ethics are stellar among male students, and he always puts others before himself – a true example of leadership. Edward rises above negative influences and pressures in everyday school situations; therefore, others should emulate Edward Doan for he demonstrates a positive influence on others uncompromising his morals and integrity. Edward is absolutely one of my favorite students because his passion for learning is so spirited. Determined and driven, Edward’s passion is his love for thinking, and he relates it to challenging as well as thought-provoking activities. Edward is our problem solver – the divergent thinker of our future generation.”
Donna Schrock, AP Chemistry Teacher said, “Edward is an exceptionally talented young man with an excellent work ethic and a bright future ahead. He is a dedicated student who goes above and beyond what is expected of him in the classroom. He has a very inquisitive mind which makes him a very good AP Chemistry student. In addition to engineering, he has expressed the desire to study medicine in the future, and I think he is capable of succeeding in all of his future endeavors.”
After graduation, Edward will attend Lamar University as a Mirabeau Scholar and go to medical school with the goal of eventually entering medical research.
