Orange native, Alicia Permenter, has been named the new Area Director for Special Olympics Texas. Permenter’s area is housed in Beaumont but covers all of the Golden Triangle.
As Area 05 Area Director, Alicia is responsible for all aspects of providing competitions, maintaining databases for over 700 athletes, and fundraising in the Beaumont Area. This includes identifying new athletes, recruiting and training new and existing coaches, organizing all volunteers, and coordinating the management team and numerous committees that enable athletes to compete in 6 sports offered in this area with more to come.
Permenter is the daughter of Gail Hamilton and Billy and Suzy Permenter and is the granddaughter of Stan and Martha Hall, all of Orange. She is a 1992 graduate of Little Cypress Mauriceville High School and attended Lamar University.
Permenter is excited with her new position and looks forward to serving the area she grew up in.
