Hurricane Harvey devastated Texas either with its winds or torrential rains. Four months after Harvey, FEMA has gotten manufacturer houses or travel trailers to 1,075 families or individuals.
FEMA on Tuesday reported that 40,718 households applied for direct housing from the agency after Harvey. In Texas, 41 counties, including Orange County, are in the official declared disaster zone to receive FEMA help.
The agency reports 7,215 applicants were declared eligible for direct housing and work orders have been submitted for 2,088 of those.
Besides the 1,075 living in manufactured housing or travel trailers, 99 more are ready for occupancy and another 57 are ready for electricity to be hooked up.
Ken Higginbotham with FEMA said the statistics are not broken down by county.
