The Orange Planning and Zoning Commission along with the City Council will have a special called meeting Tuesday to discuss developments on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and Allie Payne Road.
Faith United Methodist Church, 8608 MLK Drive, is requesting a zone change for a five-acre tract. The land is currently zoned for high-density residential. The church is asking the zoning be changed to commercial-special zone. A public hearing for citizen comments on the change will be held.
Also, David Hinds will present for approval the preliminary plat on his Oak Allie subdivision. The development is along Allie Payne Road.
The joint meeting will be at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in the council auditorium next to the Orange Public Library.
Any action taken by the Planning and Zoning commission must be approved by the city council in a separate meeting before becoming official.
